Are You Ready 2022 Cotillion Participants

Ms. Brigitte Marks requests the pleasure of your company at the ball honoring her daughter Miss Gabriella Jackson; Gabriella is a Senior at Mount Vernon STEAM Academy graduating at the end of June 2022. She was a member of the Mount Vernon City School District Girls Swim Team and New Rochelle YMCA Swim Team.

Confident, courageous, friendly & helpful are just a few characteristics that describe Gabriella as a Girl Scout.  She started in 1st grade as a Daisy to soon Bridge from Ambassador level to Adulthood! She has been leading & guiding new troops to also help love their Girl Scout experience as she has for 12 years.  She has earned her Bronze and Silver Awards to help others less fortunate in her community. 

Gabriella is a proud member of Grace Baptist Church where she also loves serve her community in the choir, the Youth Forum and the Food Pantry. During the Pandemic, she organized and hosted Grace’s “grab & go” dinners for Thanksgiving & Christmas two years in a row! 

Gabriella’s interests are cosmetology and dermatology.  Her favorite colors are pink and black. She will be attending Virginia State University to major in Biology and minor in Art.

Ms. Pamela Hiland requests the pleasure of your company at the ball honoring her son Master Jamieson Jeremy Hiland-Wilson. Jamieson is a Freshman at Mount Vernon STEAM Academy. Jamieson loves to play basketball and is into video gaming; he enjoys all things involving technology. Jamieson works in media at my church. His favorite color is black. I would love to play basketball professionally, and if this is not possible, he would like to work in sports medicine.

She loves working with and taking care of children, and her favorite color is pink. Janel plays the violin and sings on my church’s praise team. For my career, I will become a cardiothoracic surgeon.

Diane Arroya and Darnell Arroya request the pleasure of your company at the ball honoring their daughter Miss Nailah Elizabeth Arroya. She is a Sophomore at Mount Vernon STEAM Academy. Nailah loves kickboxing, her favorite color is yellow. Her dream and aspiration are to succeed, and she hopes to attend Howard University. Although Nailah does want to be successful, she does have a problem with public speaking and hopes one day she can overcome this challenge. Nailah loves her family and dog Gypsy. Nailah is the oldest of her sisters. We hope that this Cotillion will help her achieve her dream and build relationships.

Ms. Anissa Vincent requests the pleasure of your company at the ball honoring her daughter Miss Skylar Vincent, a Junior at Denzel Washington School of the Arts, where she majors in acting. Skylar appeared in her school performances “The Wiz” and “The Lion King and modeled in several fashion shows. Chasing her dreams every chance she gets, participating in a Master Class with actor Malik Yoba. This aspiring actress and entrepreneur have her focus on attending FAMU (Florida A&M University) or Howard University. Staying focus not only on being an actress/entrepreneur but also on academics. Skylar is an Honor Roll student and will be in the running for Senior Class President in the Fall. In her busy times of being Skylar, she loves to encourage others. She keeps up with one of the largest social media waves of Tik Tok videos and hangs around her friends. Her favorite colors are pink and blue.

Ms. Shakira Dawson requests the pleasure of your company at the ball honoring her daughter Miss Amirrah Johnson .

Miss Amirrah Johnson is a Junior at Denzel Washington School of the Performing Arts, where she majors in her first love ..Dance. Besides being an Honor student with AP courses, Amirrah is part of the MVHS Cheerleading team where she received the 2022 scholar athlete award.

When Amirrah is not sharpening her tumbling skills , she enjoys socializing with her friends, taking on modeling gigs and/or serving her community by giving back with Deborah Huldah Ministries.

Amirrah aspires to be a Psychologist or Therapist as she loves helping people. Her favorite color is purple and has a soft spot for animals. She wishes to attend an HBCU college university.

Adera Williams requests the pleasure of your company at the ball honoring her daughter Miss Imani Williams. Imani likes the color purple, likes to read, watch tv and hang with her friends. She aspires to be a surgeon. Shy at first but funny and adventurous when you get to know her. Imani is a Sophomore at East Harlem Scholars Academy.

Erica Peterson introduces her son Eric. He is currently a Junior at Mount Vernon High School. Eric also is a member of the MVHS Varsity football team participant in Destination College. He hopes to attend an excellent college not only for football but for his area of interest. Eric will be a participant in the Are You Ready Cotillion!

Ms. LaShaun Rivers request the pleasure of your company at the ball honoring her son Master Jaellin Rayshaun Sampson. Jaellin is a Freshmen at Mount Vernon High School

Jaellin’s hobbies are football, drawing, and playing different games. Jaellin’s favorite color is dark red. He would love to be an electrician and have his own company, Universal Technical Institute, a trade school that he would love to attend.
